projects i’ve written, filmed, and edited

super 8 shot on canon 310xl. may 2023 at the getty and will rogers beach. music "the grid" by phillip glass from Koyaanisqatsi

for an experimental film class i took in paris in the summer of 2021. fed up with the heavy canon c200's and Black Magics, i decided to simply carry around my old lumix point and shoot and listen to the voice of paris. a sort of experimental mini doc if you will

i was walking on the beach and my mind began to wander- as the mind does. i’ve begin to think waves are to the ocean in the same way thoughts are to the mind. i had been back home for 5 months now after graduating college. leaving the loud voices of new york made space for the own voices and questions inside my head. do romantic and platonic love really feel that different? how do we love? how do we grieve lost love, or is love ever truly lost?

a mini doc of the 10 days jacqueline and i spent visiting gabe who was studying abroad in Madrid. having gone to high school together, we get the pleasure to see how we've changed after so long of existing. at times it may appear as though adulting has slowly taken the spark out of us, but it is tender to see we have actually retained the silliness and playfulness that we still recognize in each other 10 years later. as an introvert, my favorite way to soak in my friends is to film them. "los pijos de Madrid" means "the spoiled kids of Madrid," which is what i always feel when being a tourist abroad. even though we try to be as respectful as possible, I can still imagine the spaniards around us sighing, "here come the annoying American kids."
